Knee high boots have been somewhat usurped by over-the-knee boots of late. We are as guilty of that as anyone – the challenge with over-the-knee is to style them in the right way; less cheap, more chic. However, knee high boots still play an important role in our wardrobes, perfect for zipping over skinny jeans or wearing over opaque tights with winter dresses. Less of an impact perhaps, but that may be a good thing. We always try to present a range of price points and, true to our tall girl roots, all footwear we present on HøFSisters is available up to a size 9. Here are our selection of the best knee and over-the-knee boots for tall women.
HøF Top 5
Oxitaly Rosetta Boots, £193.49 (10% OFF) – an Italian brand which goes up to a UK size 10 in many styles (shop through Zalando). Some of the styles are a little S&M for our liking, but opt for a chunky heel with minimal shiny leather, like Rosetta above, and you’ll have a great pair of boots.
ASOS Kailis Over the Knee Boots, £55 – in the news today it was announced that ASOS will be hiring 1,500 new staff in the UK over the next 3 years. Yes, 1,500. There is a very good reason for this almost unfeasible growth. ASOS has done what we are all told we cannot do – be everything to everyone. We love the detailing on the chunky block heels and the black suede is versatile. Would look great with semi-opaque tights and a chunky knit dress like this one from Somerset by Alice Temperley at John Lewis.
Lucy Choi Ryder Boots, £325 – we are a little bit in love with Lucy Choi’s beautiful footwear right now. You can go to her shop on Connaught St, shop online or at The Outnet (although the latter don’t stock size 9/42). Their website calls the Ryder Boots a timeless wardrobe staple, and we couldn’t agree more.
L.K.Bennett Lorde Boots in Truffle, £297 (SALE PRICE). The Lorde boots from L.K.Bennett are the most expensive on the list (nearly £500 full whack) but the quality is unquestionable. Spray them, treasure them and wear them as often as possible. I have danced in them, pounded the London streets and stood at cocktail parties for hours and my feet have never tired. At 40% off they’re worth a look in. If you feel you can’t justify the expense, these from ASOS may satisfy your need for burgundy over-the-knee boots.
Fly London Luba, £73.92 – Amazon are cannon balling onto the fashion scene in a big way. Short of catalogue brides and grooms, you can now pretty much buy anything there and, to our benefit, that includes some footwear brands which come in larger sizes like Gabor and Fly London. HøFSisters love a wedge boot and Fly London offer this sturdy leather style, perfect for icy mornings.
