Don’t you love the way fashion-types (guilty as charged) always say “This season, it’s ALL about the…” and then spiel off whatever they’re wearing. So. This summer it’s ALL about the wrap. The wrap dress, certainly, but also wrap skirts, tops and blouses. The wraparound style, immortalised by Diane von Furstenberg with her iconic wrap dress, is versatile and flattering on all body shapes and hence a fantastic wardrobe staple. This satin wrap blouse from the new collection at Zara caught my eye because of the stunning deep sea blue and luxurious texture. At £30, you’re getting 100% polyester, but boy does it look and feel like silk.
The wraparound style is fairly casual, but in a satin finish it is as happy paired with a pencil skirt and heels for the office as it is with high-waisted jeans and pumps or ankle boots for dinner out with friends. Here, I’ve paired it with my raw hem M.I.H jeans which are now in the sale at Matches. Or, if you want to be on point for AW17/18, pair it with new season wide-leg, high-waist denim styles and ankle boots. The sleeves are a little cropped, especially on long arms, but I’m not sure this matters at all. If you are keen on longer sleeves, try this very similar style from ZARA here.
I’ve had these cute little ballet pumps for a few weeks now, waiting for the perfect outfit to showcase them on HøFSisters. They’re from German company, Fitters Footwear, who offer a lovely range of shoes up to an EU45. Moreover, HøFSisters readers get an exclusive discount using code: 6QK5LD. You can shop them here now. They rubbed a little on my ankles the first couple of times I wore them but quickly softened and are now super-comfortable – I can run around in them all day.
The combination of relaxed denim and luxurious satin makes for a laid back yet chic outfit, perfect for a midweek dinner with friends. And this month, it’s ALL about the dinner with friends… Soon they’ll be 8000 miles away from me.
