So, it’s been another fun week at HøFSisters’ HQ, with a bit of ‘down-time’ thrown in for both Han and I. While I’ve been spending a blustery half-term with the kids in Norfolk, Han has flown off to visit friends in Johannesburg for an indulgent mid-winter break. What could highlight more beautifully the differences in our respective lives? Tractor rides, Wii games and muddy walks for me, versus two-seater plane rides, cocktail parties and champagne by the pool for Han. You may have spotted some of these exciting experiences on HøFSisters InstaStories. Not the Norfolk ones, surprisingly, but the rather more social-media friendly South Africa ones…… oh, to be footloose and fancy-free like my younger sibling!
Inspite of the distance between us, we have been FaceTiming like mad, and getting super-excited about some amazing, upcoming HøF collaborations. Spring looks set to offer some really interesting features for our readers, and we can’t wait to tell you more in the weeks to come.
Meanwhile, I’m feeling rather pleased with myself about this week’s denim jacket and spotty skirt combination you see before you. There’s so much fun to be had with taking a rather dressy, showstopper piece like this fabulous L.K.Bennett skirt, and throwing on a favourite, love-worn number over the top, just to dress things down a bit. This particular jacket is from Acne, but there are several styles on the market which would work just as well, especially with the sleeves rolled up and little care for chilly wrists.
This style of smart casual dressing encapsulates rather well our philosophy on fashion; don’t take it too seriously, and always wear something that makes you feel comfortable in yourself. While this skirt could easily be worn with some strappy heels, I opted for these cute stripy LTS flats, which have been hiding in my wardrobe on the chance of a dry day. Never a fan of the overdone look, the combination of flats and faded denim with this rather sophisticated skirt felt like exactly the right level of insouciance.
The beautiful bright-blue clutch is from Alissya, a recent HøF discovery, and the designer of some rather stunning and not-too-extortionately priced bags. I have a feeling this particular number might be featuring quite a bit in the weeks to come; the colour and size make it incredibly versatile.
As an aside, you may have noticed the different backdrop in these pics; we decided to hang out in Notting Hill on this occasion, and rather fell in love with it all over again. If only I could claim this was my real front door…….:-)
