Yeah, yeah I know we’re always banging on about our Danish heritage at HøFSisters. However, our assertion that all things Scandi are immediately cool was reinforced by the discovery of these Second Female leather trousers in KJ’s Laundry in Marylebone, London. Ankle grazing on my long legs and a shade of grey I hadn’t even known existed.
Scandi-Mania
We’re not the only ones chewing your ears off. There was an article on Copenhagen Cool in The Sunday Times Magazine at the weekend. They featured a few Scandi names worth watching including Ganni, one of our favourite brands and designer of the stunning black skirt I wore to Zoe’s birthday celebrations.
They didn’t even scratch the surface. Unless you have been living under a rock you will have noticed that the UK’s obsession with all things Scandinavian – interiors, fashion, lifestyle (it’s hygge time!), parenting (equality? Look to the Swedes) and even a great murder – continues unabated.
Indies
The best way to check out Scandi brands is to visit independent shops (indies) in your local area. London may be a treasure trove but some of HøF’s favourite boutiques are tucked away in secluded corners of the countryside. Try on any Scandi brands you can find. They’re likely going to impress in design, quality and length.
When To Wear Leather?
Contrary to popular belief, leather can be worn day or night. By switching shoes and bags you can dress it down or up. With the white Superga that I have literally lived in since the spring, and this happy, smiley Anya Hindmarch cross body bag, it will be a perfect outfit for running autumn meetings and errands with a skip in my step.
What To Wear With Leather?
Leather may have suggestive connotations so it is often sensible to complement it with conservative pairings, such as a high-neck blouse with longer length at the back or an oversized jumper, like this one. I love this jumper – it’s chunky knit and generous proportions have me harking for autumn days and trips to Copenhagen at Christmas. It’s by Hope-Sthlm. Oh. Yep. That stands for Stockholm. Another Scandi brand we happen to love.

Great leather leggings!! Like Karen, I haven’t been able to successfully source a pair of tall-friendly leather leggings or trousers, but after seeing how beautifully you styled these looks, I’m going to have to start searching a little harder.
