Zo and I were briefly reunited in December when I popped back to London for a few meetings, life admin (the tax man never sleeps) and, of course, to see family and friends before Christmas. JEEZ it was cold!! I’ve gone soft, clearly, but shooting SS18 in 2ºC was not an experience I would choose to repeat and selecting photos where we don’t look purple/stiff/miserable has been something of a challenge! However, we managed to shoot some wonderful pieces of clothing either available to buy now or dropping soon for SS18 and we hope you love them as much as we do.
As per our HøF branding and ever-present colour theme throughout our Instagram feed, Zo and I are big fans of blue and she couldn’t resist when we spotted this eye-catching zigzag blanket by Hayley Menzies. With its arm holes and built-in scarf and shearling collar, this “blanket” will be perfect for layering in spring and will jazz up any skinny jeans variation. It’s also now half price in the sale (take a look here) so amazing value for money.
Zoe styled the zigzag blanket with a long sleeve top from Next, loafers from Fitters Footwear (good selection of shoes in larger sizes – use exclusive HøF code: 6QK5LD, to get 15% off), KIN skinny jeans from John Lewis and a stunning cobalt blue suede bag from L.K.Bennett. A simple, chic combination that lets the zigzags do the talking.
My blue passion of the month comes in the form of this Iva leather jacket from Baukjen, again in the sale and currently at £259. As a transitional winter to spring look, I decided to brighten the outfit by mixing my primaries and layering the navy leather jacket over this beautiful muted yellow cashmere knit from Really Wild.
The super cool step hem jeans are J Brand 811’s from Trilogy. I think a step is so flattering on long legs, especially with a pair of flat shoes like these print loafers from Boden. The exact style isn’t available right now but will drop soon and you can find similar slipper shoe styles here.
The wonderfully tactile, golden green handbag, also from Boden, has a removable chain shoulder strap and cute black bow detailing. I feel great in this outfit – I love the style, the colours, the step hem and the layering effect. The sleeves of the leather jacket are a little short but if you’re layering it over a long sleeve knit it’s not going to be a problem – I love to fold the cuffs back anyway for a more effortless look.
I write this blog from sunny, hot Cape Town in a bikini and denim shorts. Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t give this up for the world right now. But a little bit of me is getting very excited about leather jackets, cashmere knits and my SS18 wardrobe…
