So, if it’s a shot of festive glamour you’re looking for, you can do much worse than this-stand-out-from-the-crowd, punch-you-in-the-face, beam-me-up-Scotty, bright red jumpsuit from Escada.

It manages to be maximum impact with minimum effort, leaving you time to worry about how you will deal with all the attention you’re going to be getting. During the twenty minutes we spent getting these pictures, I have never been so inundated with propositions from passersby. I think it’s something about the vibrancy of the red; it just cannot be ignored and people are drawn to it like moths to a flame. This is not a look for the faint-hearted; wall flowers need not apply. But, remember, fortune favours the brave.

When it comes to accessorising a vibrant red jumpsuit, minimal is key. Granted, in this weather, my choice of footwear looks foolish, so swap for a pair of pointed flats. And while the v-neck plunge helps to offset the elongating effect of head-to-toe in one colour, you can further achieve this by wearing a belt at the waist. For me this slim gold one was the perfect choice for a festive, futuristic vibe. Think The Handmaid’s Tale without the dystopian baggage plus a few baubles thrown in for good measure.

It’s starting to look a lot like Christmas.
